Abstract: ChatGPT undeniably revolutionized student learning experiences, offering personalized assistance and convenience. However, it also faced individual disapproval as it sparked questions about academic integrity, particularly in AI-assisted cheating and plagiarism. A survey design was employed to determine the perceived impact of ChatGPT on the learning of 385 undergraduate students in state universities and colleges (SUCs) in Manila. A correlational design was also used to analyze the potential relationship between student learning processes and their understanding of plagiarism. The results showed that sex, age group, and ChatGPT usage duration were statistically significantly different except for socioeconomic status. It indicates that students have varied perceptions of utilizing ChatGPT in their learning and academic tasks. While ChatGPT can enhance the educational experience, there is a potential risk of misuse, leading to the issue of plagiarism and breaching academic integrity. Moreover, further studies are needed to determine the long-term effects of AI tools like ChatGPT on learning outcomes.
