Abstract: The article is dedicated to the outstanding scientist and industrialist Yuri Nikolaevich Malyshev. The experience of his work in the field of scientific and educational activities is presented, special attention is paid to the interaction under his leadership of the Vernadsky State Geological Museum of the Russian Academy of Sciences (SGM RAS) and the educational community. The presented work reveals modern approaches to sectoral mining and geological education using museum practice.
