Abstract: This work aims to analyze the perception of hospitality by the crew of the National Air Mail (CAN), of the Brazilian Air Force, in the care of isolated populations of the Amazon, as guests of this region and the populations visited. It is also important to observe how the public servants assigned to this mission reacted to the human appeal of those populations and how they participate in the ritual of hospitality. The theoretical framework focused on the contextualization of the activity of the CAN, as well as on the theoretical contextualization of hospitality and its pertinent authors. From the methodological point of view, after a pre established categorization, based on the times of hospitality (hospitality, lodging, food-dinner and entertainment) was performed a content analysis of elaborately semi-structured interviews. In addition to rescuing a relevant moment of national life, this work intends to be inserted in the analysis of hospitality in special situations.
