Abstract: Home mechanical ventilation (HMV) has transformed care for children with chronic respiratory failure, enabling early discharge and improving their quality of life.This review addresses key considerations for HMV, including patient selection, tailored ventilatory strategies, and caregiver education.Although HMV offers significant benefits, challenges such as equipment risks and caregiver burden underscore the need for proper training and support.These comprehensive considerations and a multidisciplinary approach will help ensure that patients can be discharged earlier and return to their families more safely.
