Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: The article addresses key problems of the theoretical orientation of the course, insufficient practical components, and limited use of modern technologies. The research aims to develop approaches to improving the teaching of the discipline "Methodology and Organization of Scientific Research in Physical Education and Sports" to enhance the level of preparation of master's students in the "Physical Education" educational-professional program (specialty 017 "Physical Culture and Sports") for independent scientific activities in the field of physical education and sports. The object of the research is the teaching process of the discipline "Methodology and Organization of Scientific Research in Physical Education and Sports" in higher education institutions. The subject of the research is the methodological approaches, tools, and technologies used in teaching this discipline to develop the research competencies of master's students in the "Physical Education" educational-professional program (specialty 017 "Physical Culture and Sports"). To achieve the set goal, research methods were used, including the analysis of literature on scientific research methodology and teaching innovations, as well as the systematization of modern approaches to organizing students' scientific activities, innovative technologies, and their application in physical education and sports. Research Results. The study revealed that teaching the discipline in higher education institutions is predominantly focused on theoretical aspects, while the practical component remains underdeveloped. This limits students' ability to apply acquired knowledge in practice and perform independent research tasks. The integration of practice-oriented approaches, the introduction of interactive technologies, the expansion of interdisciplinary approaches, and the active use of modern digital tools were proposed. The testing of these methods demonstrated a positive impact on the development of research competencies in master's students. Conclusions. Optimizing the teaching of the discipline through the enhancement of practical components, the integration of modern technologies, and interdisciplinary approaches significantly improves the readiness of master's students in physical culture and sports for scientific activities. The use of the proposed methods promotes the development of critical thinking, independence in research, and confidence in utilizing modern scientific tools.
