Abstract: Eddy covariance (EC) technique is the only method to measure the gas exchange between ecosystem and atmosphere directly at ecosystem scale. It has been widely used in analyzing the dynamic changes of carbon, nitrogen and water cycles in terrestrial ecosystems and their response and control mechanisms to environmental changes. To better understand the role of China’s plantations in global carbon sequestration across the world, it is essential to establish more eddy covariance observation systems and conduct long-term studies. As a pioneering station using eddy covariance technique in China, the National Field Scientific Observation and Research Station of Qianyanzhou Red Soil Hilly Region (Qianyezhou Station) has continuously monitored carbon and water exchanges in the pine plantations for more than 22 years, and has acquired and accumulated a batch of long-term observation data. Based on previously published data, we released the carbon, water and heat fluxes and meteorological data from 2011 to 2015 following standardized compilation, so as to fully leverage the scientific value of the data, further support the efforts in national and regional carbon sink assessments, and advance relevant scientific research initiatives. This dataset primarily includes observations of CO2/H 2O flux, latent and sensible heat flux, along with measurements of air temperature and humidity, net radiation, photosynthetically active radiation, as well as soil temperature and moisture. The dataset has been processed to provide standardized data on half-hourly, daily, monthly, and annual scales.
