Abstract: Art therapy has emerged as a powerful therapeutic approach for trauma recovery, leveraging creative expression to address emotional, psychological, and physiological dimensions of trauma. This article explores the foundational principles of art therapy, its theoretical frameworks, and its application within diverse trauma recovery contexts. By utilizing creative modalities such as painting, drawing, and movement, art therapy provides a non-verbal outlet for processing traumatic experiences, fostering emotional regulation, and facilitating healing. The discussion highlights the psychodynamic and humanistic approaches, the integration of culturally sensitive practices, and innovative digital applications, along with challenges such as client resistance and resource limitations. Empirical studies and case examples illustrate the profound impact of art therapy in enabling trauma survivors to reconstruct their narratives, regain control, and embark on paths of resilience and recovery.
