Abstract: When designing heating systems, drying plants based on film electric heaters, it is necessary to take into account its maximum power per unit area (specific power). In the article, for a film electric heater with a resistive element in the form of a high-resistance foil, the dependences of the limiting surface temperature on its specific power are obtained, provided its position in space, taking into account the influence of ambient temperature. As a result of the research, a theoretical dependence was obtained that allows taking into account the based disturbing factors when choosing the parameters of film electric heaters, performing design.
