Features of growth and development of Hereford bulls of different genotypes

Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: One of the key purposes of the study was to study the development and growth of bulls of different ecogenesis, as well as to determine directions for the growth of industrial production of beef with high quality characteristics based on the gene pool of Hereford beef cattle within the framework of culled breeding stock of the Black-and-White breed. The scientific and economic experiment was carried out in the conditions of the Pilninsky district of the Nizhny Novgorod region on the basis of the Deyanovsky agricultural cooperative (collective farm). The object of the research was two groups of Hereford bulls and a crossbred (F3 - 7/8 blood). Theoretical aspects and research results on the topic under study are described, the dynamics of the live weight of Hereford bulls and crosses with the Black-and-White breed (F3), changes in their average daily, absolute, gross and relative growth in ontogenesis (from birth to 18 months with weighing at 6 and 12 months). The effectiveness of raising and selling purebred and crossbred bulls of different ecogenesis has been theoretically substantiated and proven.
