Abstract: Illinois, the “crossroads” of the United States where a total solar eclipse was visible in both 2017 and 2024, was uniquely positioned to connect people with these two extraordinary sky phenomena. The Adler Planetarium reached across the entire state to engage audiences with both eclipses. This paper outlines the goals for Adler’s 2017 Year of the Eclipse and 2023-2024 Eclipses Across Illinois projects and the results of both these efforts.
