Abstract: Nowadays, the compounds with unique fluorescence and sensor properties attract much attention of researchers. One of the promising classes of compounds are organic fluorophores capable of forming excimers in an excited state. This review highlights intramolecular excimers based on organic compounds, their properties and applications, as well as matrices that are used to graft such fluorophores.
