Abstract: A 7-year-old boy presented with pain on the outer side of his left foot and a mild limp lasting 1 week, without any history of trauma. Examination revealed localized tenderness at the base of the fifth metatarsal bone in the left foot. An X-ray showed a displaced fracture at the base of this bone. Initial management included strapping the foot and advising physical rest, with surgery considered if the fracture failed to heal properly. One week later, the child returned with spontaneous pain in the right foot.
