Abstract: As women age, reproductive challenges become more prevalent, including increased miscarriage rates due to genetic defects, as well as common complications of the pregnancy (i.e., preeclampsia, preterm birth, intrauterine growth retardation, etc.). Infertility, classified as a worldwide health problem by the World Health Organization, is closely linked to age. Understanding the age-related fertility decline is crucial in clinical practice to provide appropriate counseling and early intervention. Genetic testing is also essential for couples undergoing infertility treatment, as numerous genes have been associated with reproductive problems and aging. As more genes are identified, understanding the etiology of infertility will improve, leading to more successful management.
