Abstract: The Church, at the dawn of the third millennium, aims to follow the path of synodality. Pope Francis has embraced this commitment as programmatic. In this sense, it is hepful to deepen our understanding of the image of the People of God, with which the constitution Lumen Gentium referred to the Church, and its priestly dimmension. The baptized as companions on the journey, constitute the People of God who, summoned from among the peoples, express their social, historical and missionary dimension. Whereas the common priesthood in which we participate allows us to conceive of the believer's life as a dedication to the mission of proclaiming the Gospel.
