Abstract: For Spanish readers, Marcos Jorge's Portuguese catechism is practically unknown. The study shows its most important lines, the circumstances and date of elaboration, the affinities it had with the Sapanish catechism, its Jesuitic style. And also, there are the additions made by his colleague Inacio Martins, with and added devotional. In both cases, the connection between Spanish and Portuguese catechisms in the 16th century appears.
