Abstract: The purpose of the article is to determine the short- and medium-term economic consequences of the socialist reconstruction of the USSR agriculture carried out in the 1930s. The main attention is paid to determining the extent to which the tasks set before the beginning of its deployment were solved. It is concluded that by the end of the 1930s the grain and livestock problems remained unsolved in the USSR, it was not fully possible to replace small-scale commodity production with large mechanized production, the level of material welfare of collective farmers remained low. In general, only the task of supplying the population and industry with cotton and sugar beets was solved.
