Type: article
Abstract: A hydram pump (Hydraulic Ram Pump) is a device that transfers water from a lower location to a higher one, or from a moderately elevated place to a higher elevation. The principle of a hydraulic ram is based on the impact of water, which then pushes water to a higher location. The purpose of this research is to analysis the effect of Inlet pipe diameter variation on hydram pump performance. The research method used is the Pre-experimental design method. This research varies the pipe diameter to obtain efficient performance values resulting from water pumping. The analysis of the effect of Inlet pipe diameter variation on the performance of the hydraulic pump in this study uses 1 inch, 2 inch, and 3 inches. From the research, it was found that the highest discharge rate was at the 1 inch Inlet pipe with 4.8 × 10−5 𝑚4/𝑠, the lowest discharge rate at the outlet valve was found at the 1 inch Inlet pipe with 9.85 × 10−5 𝑚4/𝑠, and the highest discharge capacity was obtained at the 1 inch Inlet pipe diameter with 61.95%.
