Abstract: The article considers the history of the emergence of the Kyiv informal artistic association Blue October (2011) and the stages of its institutionalization. The author explores reasons for the association of such bright, independent creative personalities as Olena Pryduvalova, Oleksiy Apollonov, Oleksiy Beliusenko, Matvii Vaisberg, Borys Firtsak, and Akhra Ajinjal. The article reveals the distinctive features of this group that make it unique in comparison to others: the absence of an artistic manifesto, a leader or leaders, a single style in the works, and the need to join forces to find workshops. The article reveals the fundamental factors that made it possible for Blue October to exist for a significant period of time.
