Abstract: Reymont’s relationships with the Noiret siblings – Ignacy, Zofia, and Helena – date back to the 1890s, when the writer worked on the railway. These relationships are documented in Reymont’s letters and annotations from this period. Ignacy was a close friend, Zofia served as his confidante and intermediary in communications with Szczygielska, while Helena (later Wojnowa) was his lover. Most of the facts concerning the Noiret family and their connections to Reymont have not been thoroughly examined until now. This article attempts to reconstruct these relationships, corrects previous researchers’ errors and oversimplifications, and presents new findings. As a result, new contexts for further research on Reymont’s biography are created.
