4G Signal Amplifier using 1800 MHz Yagi-Uda Antenna

Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: The demand for high-speed mobile data access in rural, remote, and urban areas with weak cellular signals has led to the development of effective signal amplification systems. This project presents a 4G signal amplifier designed to enhance cellular signal reception using a Yagi-Uda antenna tuned to the 1800 MHz frequency band, which is widely used for 4G LTE services. The Yagi-Uda antenna is chosen for its high directional gain, compact design, and ability to focus reception in a specific direction, thereby minimizing interference from unwanted signals. The signal received by the antenna is amplified using a low-noise amplifier (LNA) to boost signal strength while maintaining signal integrity. The amplified signal is then relayed to a 4G modem or mobile device, improving data speeds, call quality, and network stability. The system is evaluated based on key parameters such as gain, signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), and coverage improvement. Results demonstrate that the Yagi-Uda antenna significantly enhances the reception of weak 4G signals, making it an effective solution for users in areas with poor network coverage. This project has potential applications in homes, offices, and vehicles, where reliable 4G connectivity is critical.
