Abstract: The growth of commerce between Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, and Laredo, Texas, has increased the number of coupling and uncoupling maneuvers for trailer boxes, exposing operators to physical injuries due to the manual effort required to raise and lower the landing gear. Currently, existing solutions are fixed and limited in adaptability. This article addresses this issue through the development of a portable electromechanical system designed to automate these maneuvers and reduce physical strain. Equipped with a direct current motor (12V, 275W) and a 15:1 transmission, the system has been tested with loads of up to 7 tons. Field tests showed a significant reduction in operator fatigue, with an average operation time of 7 minutes. This portable ergonomic solution enhances safety and efficiency in logistics operations, allowing more flexible implementation across multiple trailer boxes.
