Abstract: My analysis of Graça Morais’ works examines the interconnection of realms: human, animal, vegetal, and mineral, within their environment, focusing on the theme of sacrifice. A pictorial analysis will help understand the various dimensions of this coexistence between humans and both wild and domestic animals. Through mutant and totemic figures, she explores the deep connections between humans and nature. Animality becomes a mirror of the human soul, transcending the boundaries of reality. Are these mutants or totemic beings? Animality represents a figure of otherness, a transhumanist project.
