Abstract: This work deals with the daily difficulties of black people and the strategies that help them recover their dignity. In order to dismantle the evils that still objectify and reduce the existences and bodies of black people to their racial condition, as if they had no values or importance, we invite Rosana Paulino with her method of refazimento and Emilie Townes with her notion of countermemory to dialogue. Paulino and Townes, while working to defeat the universal narratives that despise black existence, suggest subversive places that reformulate these “universal truths”. The method of refazimento combined with the work of dismantling evil through countermemory not only presents new narratives about who black people/bodies are but also rediscovers them as a provocation to theology and its new way of considering anthropology.
