A Study on Friction Stir Processing Effected on Hardness and Tensile Properties When Single and Double Pass With Single and Double Pin Tool Is Considered Using Al 6061 and Copper Material

Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: The objective is to compare the performance of the double pin tool with conventional FSP single pin tool and assess its potential for achieving superior material properties. The design and fabrication of the double pin tool, considering key parameters such as pin configuration, pin spacing, and shoulder design.Experimental trials are conducted using AA6061 and copper particles, with process parameters optimized for each material. This research includes both single pass and double pass for both the single pin tool and double pin tool and comparing their results like micro structural changes, mechanical properties like tensile, hardness, are systematically analysed and compared with those obtained from conventional FSP single pin tool, and finally analysis the experimental results with taguchi Method.
