Abstract: This study analyzes the relationship between poverty and crime in Tabasco. Three Simple Linear Regression (SLR) models were analyzed, considering the Weighted Crime Index, the Social Lag Index, the lack of access to health services and the Public Security Contribution Fund (FASP). The results show that the lack of access to health services has a strong correlation and is a predictor of PDI. To reduce crime, a set of public policies aimed at improving the living conditions of society is recommended.
