Green Synthesis Of Zinc And Titanium Nanoparticles Using HG Seed Extract: A Sustainable Approach To Nanotechnology

Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: This study explores the biosynthesis of zinc (Zn) and titanium (Ti) nanoparticles (NPs) using HG seed extract as a reducing and stabilizing agent. The synthesis was initially evidenced by a visible colour change, indicative of metal ion reduction and nanoparticle formation. UV-Vis spectroscopy confirmed the presence of Zn and TiNPs through distinct SPR peaks at 270 nm and 320 nm, respectively. SEM revealed spherical nanoparticles with sizes ranging from 135–225 nm for Zn NPs and 84.2–138 nm for TiNPs, while TEM provided high-resolution insights, confirming their uniform morphology and crystalline nature. FTIR spectroscopy identified bioactive compounds, including proteins and phenolics, involved in nanoparticle stabilization, showcasing their role as natural capping agents. The HG-mediated green synthesis process produced nanoparticles with desirable size, morphology, and stability, demonstrating its efficiency and eco-friendliness. This study highlights the potential of HG extract as a sustainable alternative for nanoparticle synthesis, with broad applications in biomedicine, environmental remediation, and nanotechnology.
