Abstract: The NPC (non-player character) movement invites users to embody machinic gestures, conceptualized as a “dispassionate disposition of the posthuman condition.” This study combines a bibliographic review on the body in technology and dance archives with an analysis of TikTok profiles showcasing NPC aesthetics. It situates the phenomenon within ecological and cultural contexts, exploring organic archives such as trees, reefs, ice caps, and humans refining machinic gestures as a form of embodied memory.
