Abstract: Human milk is a complete source of nutrients for newborns, considered an essential food for child development. One of the classes of nutrients present in milk are lipids, the main energy source for babies. This work presents a comparative study of the lipid profile of colostrum and mature human milk from Brazilian nursing mothers, using the techniques of gas chromatography with a flame ionization detector and ultra-performance liquid chromatography coupled to quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry.
