Abstract: Aim And Background The most common treatment option for partial maxillectomy is a maxillary obturator prosthesis. Following a maxillectomy, prosthesis therapy goes through three different stages: definitive, interim, and surgical obturation. After maxillary excision, the interim obturator is often administered within two weeks. In addition to improving speech and swallowing, an interim obturator can assist the patient in regaining social acceptance. The weight of the prosthesis is the primary issue with rehabilitation of significant defects; as a result, it becomes extremely cumbersome and non-retentive. Because it lessens the strain on the surrounding and underlying tissues, the obturator prosthesis's hollowing is advantageous. Hollow obturators can be made in a variety of ways. This case study outlines a streamlined fabrication process of one-piece hollow interim obturator using one step acrylization technique. Case Description A 51-year-old patient was referred to the Department with primary concerns of difficulties in eating, speaking, and a deformity related to the maxillary arch following the surgical removal of a lesion. CONCLUSION A straightforward step-by-step method for creating a single-piece hollow obturator for patients with maxillary arch resection has been outlined. This prosthesis can be easily fabricated, and simple to maintain. It requires only slightly more technical time than what is typically required for producing a standard complete denture Clinical Significance The advantages of the above-mentioned technique for the fabrication of hollow one-piece obturator are that it is light in weight and hence it is more comfortable in patient’s oral cavity, also it is cost effective as well as convenient method to fabricate.
