Reactive power control strategies for renewable energy integration in MV network

Abstract: The paper presents a comparative study of the potential of four reactive power management of distributed generators (DGs) for overvoltage mitigation in distribution networks. We compare a global optimisation strategy (representing a centralised reactive power management) with local reactive power management solutions. Based on the productible energy level, each strategy is assessed from a criterion of curtailed energy.
