Abstract: Sino-Vietnamese lexical items constitute a significant component of the primary school curriculum, progressively introduced at increasing difficulty levels. Theoretical concepts related to these words are presented in the final grades (4 and 5), alongside other linguistic subjects. However, implementing diverse reading materials aligned with the 2018 Curriculum necessitates a more integrated approach to teaching Sino-Vietnamese words, beginning as early as grades 2 and 3. This study examines the prevalence of Sino-Vietnamese words in textbooks, identifies key pedagogical considerations for teachers, and proposes strategies to optimize teaching these words in the final grades.
