Unraveling Social Factors Existing Between Donor-recipient Pairings in Living Donor Liver Transplantation
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Background: Living donor liver transplantation (LDLT) provides an opportunity for transplantation and survival benefit in low MELD. LDLT success necessitates significant social support, resources, and a healthy donor which may inherently disadvantage a subset of patients with end-stage liver disease who have fewer resources. While it is well known that community-level factors impact outcomes in liver transplantation, little is known regarding how social conditions impact donor-recipient pairings.
