Abstract: Background: Hypothermic preservation of kidneys, either with static ice (SCS) or machine perfusion (HMP), while standard, prevents meaningful assessment of graft function. This study aimed to determine if a brief, 2-hour interruption of HMP with acellular normothermic machine perfusion (NMP) offers assessment and protective benefits to hard-to-place (HTP) renal grafts.
