Neoadjuvant Concurrent Chemoradiation and Esophagectomy for Esophageal Cancer: Outcomes With New‐Onset Atrial Fibrillation
Year: 2025
Type: article
Study design: Observational Study
Abstract: This illustrates the outcomes of patients with esophageal cancer undergoing neoadjuvant concurrent chemoradiation and esophagectomy, specifically focusing on those who develop new-onset atrial fibrillation (NOAF). Statistically significant findings (p < 0.05, dark red) increased mortality and ventricular fibrillation, as well as trends of (p > 0.05, light red) myocardial infarction and pericardial effusion among NOAF patients. The data emphasize the significant cardiovascular risks associated with NOAF in this population.
