Abstract: The article examines new documents on Russia's relations with the Orthodox Patriarchate of Antioch from the era of Peter the Great to the beginning of the First World War. In the course of the research the Russian archives were searched, during which a significant number of new documents were discovered that allow tracing the history of Russian policy towards the Antiochian Church for more than two centuries. Manuscript and letters of the Patriarchs of Antioch, reports of Russian consuls, diplomatic and interdepartmental correspondence reveal previously unknown pages of the history of bilateral relations.
