Abstract: This study investigates the social impact of displacement caused by road reclamation projects in Region XI, highlighting critical challenges such as inconsistent policy implementation, community resistance, delayed compensation payments, and a lack of transparency in the compensation process. The research reveals that these factors significantly affect landowners and their communities, leading to economic instability and social unrest.Inconsistent valuation methods create disparities in compensation, while prolonged payment delays exacerbate financial hardships for displaced individuals.Furthermore, limited stakeholder consultation fosters mistrust between communities and authorities, undermining the legitimacy of the compensation framework. The findings underscore the urgent need for improved compensation structures that ensure equitable treatment and support for displaced individuals, while also facilitating necessary public infrastructure development.By addressing these challenges, policymakers can foster trust and collaboration, ultimately promoting more sustainable and socially responsible development practices.
