Abstract: This research seeks to identify the factors that influenced the empirical evidence in public drug policies in Mexico during the period 2006-2018, for which a weighting variable method was implemented through Saaty Algorithm. Public drug policies in Mexico were taken as a dependent variable, and in order to assign independent variables and dimensions, two questionnaires were carried out at different times: the first corresponding to the assignment of values for the variables, and the second to the dimensions of the variables resulting from the first study. In order to corroborate the assignment of weights to the variables, 26 experts on the subject of drug policy in Mexico were selected. The results show that the independent variables with the highest weighting according to the experts were: economic interests, stereotypes, international influence and moral values, in that order
