Abstract: Polish and Ukrainian are languages related both genetically and typologically. The linguistic terminological systems of both languages are characterized by substantial similarity, although they are not and cannot be completely identical. This article deals with a study that is important from both scientific and practical point of view. It consists of demonstrating the structure of terminological systems in the fi eld of phraseology in Polish and Ukrainian. Additionally, a survey we conducted, as well as our own teaching experiences enabled us to highlight problems that Ukrainian-speaking users may encounter in the process of learning and using Polish phraseological terminology. We conclude that these difficulties stem from various linguistic, specialist and methodological factors.
