Abstract: Atypical carcinoid tumors of the larynx are rare and little known neoplasms, representing a diagnostic and therapeutic challenge. This article presents a clinical case of an atypical carcinoid tumor in a 48-year-old patient, who complained of dysphonia which worsened with dyspnea. Clinical examination revealed a suspicious laryngeal lesion, confirmed by biopsy. Histological analysis showed atypical characteristics, requiring extensive immunohistochemical tests to establish the diagnosis. This case highlights the importance of early diagnosis and multidisciplinary management, including surgery and oncology follow-up. We will also discuss the clinical implications and treatment options, as well as the need for further research on these rare tumors to improve understanding and management of this pathology.
