Abstract: Introduction. Osteoarticular infections are a major public health problem. The aim of this study was to describe the clinical and biological profile of osteoarticular infections at Batna University Hospital. Materials and methods: In this retrospective study, we report on a series of 93 patients with osteoarticular infections hospitalized in the Orthopedics-Traumatology Department of Batna University Hospital, between January 1, 2019 and April 30, 2021. Results/Discussion. The mean age of patients was 32.16 years, the M/F sex ratio was 2. Our series was dominated by arthritis (29% of cases). Among the 33 bacterial strains isolated, staphylococci predominated (56%), over half of which (58.82%) were methicillin-resistant. Probabilistic treatment was not consistent with microbiological findings in most cases. Conclusion. Knowledge of the bacterial epidemiology of osteoarticular infection is an essential tool for appropriate patient management.
