Abstract: Fullerene-gold nanoparticle composite films were prepared using laser ablation and electrospray techniques. A pulsed Nd-YAG laser with a wavelength of 1064 nm and an energy of 100 mJ was used to prepare the colloidal solutions, which were sprayed with an electrospray device onto quartz substrates at a temperature of 300±20 °C. The prepared films were characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM), UV-VIS spectrophotometer, and photoluminescence to investigate their structural, morphological, and optical properties, respectively. The prepared films showed multiple phases of C60 and C70, with differences in distribution observed based on the concentration of gold nanoparticles. In addition, there are several gap energies for each film, based on the absorption behavior that appeared within the wavelength range (200 - 900) nanometers, where their values ranged from (1.95 to 5.62) eV according to the formation phase. In the meantime, the photoluminescence spectra showed four peaks for each film, with the concentration of gold nanoparticles affecting the positions of the emission peaks and the appearance of the peaks beyond 500 nm coinciding with the addition of gold to the compound.
