Abstract: This study explores the relationship between motivational elements within the emotional intelligence construct as proposed by Goleman (2003) and employee performance. The research focuses on how motivational aspects of emotional intelligence relate to job performance and their connection to religious factors. The methodology employed is a literature review with a descriptive analysis approach, examining Goleman’s (2003) viewpoints and other relevant sources on emotional intelligence. Data collected are analyzed using content analysis techniques. The findings indicate that emotional intelligence, particularly through the role of motivation, is crucial for enhancing performance and work quality. Motivational elements in emotional intelligence are proven to be significant contributors to job performance and should be given attention in the context of human resource management.
