Type: article
Abstract: Fission cross sections exhibit a high degree of sensitivity to both saddle point deformations and the level density at equilibrium. Throughout this research, optical and statistical model, have been used for examining the neutron induced fission cross-sections calculations on some americium isotopes 240,241,243,244Am (n, f) facing obstacles that are effectively double-humped-considering different level density parameters (a) of Gilbert-Cameron Model (GCM). The EMPIRE-3.2 modular system computer code have been used for this purpose energy ranging from 1 keV to 100 MeV for the incident neutron . Our calculations have been compared with available experimental data adopted from EXFOR data base. The level density parameter considered by Arthur formula found to be the best parameter used with GCM and gives a reasonable agreement with experimental results. The calculated cross section of GCM have been also compared to the results of different level density models.Fission cross sections exhibit a high degree of sensitivity to both saddle point deformations and the level density at equilibrium.
