Abstract: The article examines approaches to evaluating teaching materials used in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) instruction. Materials are defined as key learning resources, including textbooks, flashcards, web-based resources, and reading books. The process of material evaluation is divided into two stages: external evaluation, which provides a general overview of the content and target audience, and internal evaluation, which focuses on analyzing language skills, structure, and the sequence of presentation. Particular attention is given to models and recommendations developed by linguists such as Williams, Breen, McDonough, Shaw, and Grant.
