Abstract: This article compares Uzbek and English proverbs from a semantic and linguocultural perspective, analyzing the expression of gender semantics in them, especially the attitude towards women in society. Examples of proverbs expressing the female gender in the two languages are given, and their similarities and differences are explained. Proverbs are analyzed based on the social status, marital status, intelligence, character, and moral standards of women in peoples belonging to different language families and different social societies.
