Abstract: The roots of the Armenian fiction-documentary genre go back centuries. The works of classic authors, written in the fiction-documentary genre, are the best evidence of the time in which they have lived, since each truthful work is a reflection of its time. It is no coincidence that the documentary trend is one of the most important trends in the world literature. In scientific literature the so-called metagenre (literally “transgenre” — genre, cf. translanguage) of the artistic document is often called memoir literature. The latter includes memoirs, travel notes, diaries. In the 20th century, the essay also started developing rapidly within the framework of the artistic document of the Eastern Armenia. In the present article we have attempted to conduct a linguistic and morphological analysis of the genres of the artistic document of the Eastern Armenia from the 60s of the 19th century up to the present day. The linguistic layers of the literary portrait of the native inhabitants, the linguistic and stylistic features of the memoir text have also been examined. The identification of various concepts and linguistic formulas have supplemented the linguistic peculiarities of the considered genre. We have studied the language of the multifaceted heritage of the Eastern Armenian literature, related to the fiction and documentary genre, and the features of the language and style of the works of this genre have been identified. The lexical layers of the genre and grammatical realities are the subject of the study, we have identified their stylistic meaning.
