Abstract: Inflammasomes are high-molecular-weight protein complexes that are activated by various cellular patterns and play a key role in the signalling pathways of the innate immune response. The NLRP3 inflammasome is the most studied due to its ability to recognise a wide range of endogenous and exogenous activators, which explains its involvement in the pathogenesis of inflammatory and metabolic diseases, including diabetes, atherosclerosis and neurodegenerative pathologies. Inhibition of NLRP3 activation is a promising avenue for finding novel therapies for inflammation-associated diseases. Peritoneal murine macrophages were isolated and NLRP3 inflammasome activity was investigated. Optimal experimental conditions were determined and the quality of the technique was assessed using the Z-factor.
