Stability Calculation of a Manual Wheelchair Using a System of Forward and Backward Adjustment of the Rear Wheels

Abstract: "This article presents a study on the stability of a wheelchair based on a rearwheel anteriorization and posteriorization adjustment system, using ISO 7176-1:2014- Determination of static stability as a reference. For this study, in addition to analyticalcalculations, numerical simulations were also performed to verify frontal and rearstability of the wheelchair. With the results, it was possible to verify that the proposedforward and rearward adjustments did not affect the stability of the chair consideringthe standard parameters, showing that the proposed positioning variation is viable."
