Abstract: The present study takes effort to determining the research performance of the journal of Scientometrics during 2000Scientometrics during to 2006. .This study corresponds to an assessment of citation analysis and recency pattern of citations in published records in this journal. This kind of study used technique whether called scientometrics, bibliometrics or by anyother metric studies has now-a-days become a standard basis of classifying, mapping and assessing journals.In the cited study, Scientometrics has been used to represent the journals and other forms during the 2000 to 2006 periods.Also this study has necessitated the Librarians and Library and Information Science researchers and Information Scientists to deploy a range of tools and techniques to have detailed and depth analysis of publications by the faculty and researchers, which also enabled to reveal the strength and weakness, the trends that are taking place on the subject, the core journals and publications, the premier organizations and the geographical area where the particular subject research is gaining attention, as this would greatly help K.R.Shivashankar, N.Amsaveni
