Optimization of the finite element meshing for the fabrication of a M3x12x0.5 screw, in 3D printing
Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: Meshing optimization in the finite element method (FEM) is key to designing mechanical components such as screws. This study focuses on the M3x12x0.5 screw, improving its performance and durability through the appropriate selection of meshing parameters. FEM software was used to analyze its behavior under different loads, comparing it with a 3D printed model. The results showed improvements in the accuracy of predictions about resistance, deformation and stress distribution, allowing the design to be optimized. This highlights the relevance of simulation tools in the development of mechanical components.
